Nguri - Nguri Traditional Cultural Arts, PT Semen Gresik Assists Reog Singo Wahyu Wibowo Art Group
Rembang, August 2nd, 2024 – The art group assisted by PT Semen Gresik Rembang Factory, Singo Wahyu Wibowo (SWW) managed to show its existence by performing in various regions, both in the Rembang area and outside the region, and even to East Java. SWW is part of the Sahabat Seni Semen Gresik (SGSS) program and comes from Pasucen village, Gunem sub-district, Rembang, Central Java.
According to the Coordinator of Singo Wahyu Wibowo Art Group, Leo Komando, explained that thanks to the assistance and help from PT Semen Gresik, SWW has been able to develop and perform independently in various activities. "In addition to performing in the Rembang and Blora regions, we also went outside the region, precisely in Tuban Regency, East Java, this is a proud achievement," he said.
"In its performances, SWW often displays the arts of Reog Ponorogo, Rampak Barongan, Bujang Ganong Dance, Jhatilan Dance, Buto Dance, Orek - Orek Dance, and Warok Dance," he said.
Until now, according to Leo, the total number of SWW members is 40 people who come not only from Pasucen village, but also from areas in Rembang Regency.
Senior Manager of Communication & CSR of PT Semen Gresik, Sulistyono, said that the Singo Wahyu Wibowo art group is a form of corporate social responsibility in preserving and developing traditional arts through social pillars.
"The SGSS program aims to provide space and support for local arts groups to grow and develop. This is not only focused on cultural preservation, but also on efforts to improve the welfare of the community around the company," he explained.
He explained that besides the field of cultural arts, Semen Gresik also has various other activity programs to empower young people in the villages around the company. Starting from the Edupark program, integrated agriculture plantation fisheries and livestock (P4T), Sahabat Ternak Semen Gresik and others.
"We will continue to improve the quality of human resources (HR) of residents around the company through various Semen Gresik empowerment activity programs," he said.
With the continued development of this art group, it is hoped that more and more young people will be interested in preserving and developing traditional cultural arts. This is also proof that tradition can remain relevant and have a place during the times.
